Each time it started out soft. A tiny, tinging sound, as though someone had simply put their fork down on their plate with a little too much gusto. And each time it picked up speed quickly. Guests smiling ear-to-ear, clinking their utensils against their flutes of bubbling champagne, willing the Bride and Groom to steal a kiss. Over and over again throughout dinner, those who love them the most would signal this universal Wedding chime, hardly giving Jen and Will a moment of rest, and as the rain shower of delicate china against glass fell all around us, I realized how special it was that, to the people present, the most important thing in the world was seeing the love between these newlyweds.
